Artist Statement

Threshold is the transition between one idea, space, or experience. My work often deals with the place of suburbia a kind of threshold in it’s own right between urban and rural or wild places. As you go through life you find yourself on all sorts of thresholds in political thinking, environmental awareness and soulful experiences like gardening or art making. You often pause on that threshold with reflection at both sides of where you are in place and time before you step away from the rain or toward a new open path of thought.
