Paper Nautilus Books in Providence will be donating a lovely tote bag as well as other merchandise at the Silent Auction! With its close proximity to    Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design this store has many books on the arts and scholarly editions, both in print and out of print. Emphasis is on art, architecture, photography, film theory, cultural studies, philosophy, history, fiction, poetry, Rhode Island, gardening, and cooking.  The Silent Auction and opening reception of the Small Works exhibition will be Saturday November 23rd from 6-8 p.m.

Up For Bid! Portrait by John Kotula.

This is an amazing opportunity to capture a moment and have it turned into a beautiful work of art.  Hera Gallery member, John Kotula will photograph the winning bidder and create a mixed medium portrait on paper.  The size will be approximately 24” by 36”.  The turn around time is six weeks.  Sorry, no redos. John has been drawing continuously, at times obsessively, for more than forty years.  His choice of materials comes and goes and comes back again: pencils, charcoal, conte, ink, crayons, china markers, pastels, chalk.  Over his long and variegated artistic career, what has always been true is that John loves making marks and seeing them accumulate to reveal an image.  Valued at $500. Willywaw Gift Certificate for the Silent Auction

Many thanks to Ashley Van Etten of Narragansett's Willywaw for donating a $100 gift certificate for the Silent Auction to be held next Saturday, November 23rd!  Willywaw~ The studio and workshop specialize in hand-printed serigraphs (screenprints) and a produce a range of goods, from hand-printed textiles to note cards and t-shirts. Her work is inspired by nature, through close observations and organic interpretations of color, shape and texture.  Ashley's original paintings, illustrations and serigraphs influence her collections. T-shirts are sourced for their quality and fit as well as the range of colors. Note cards are printed on beautiful mould-made paper from Italy. The textile range is handmade by Ashley, start to finish. RISD Continuing Education Gift Certificate Silent Auction 11/23/13

On Saturday, November 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Hera Gallery will be hosting a silent auction as well as the opening reception for our new Small Works exhibition. There is a wonderful gift of a $200 gift certificate towards Continuing Education classes at RISD.    The mission of Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education (RISD/CE) is to educate students of all ages in art and design with high quality, accessible programs.   Year-round, hundreds of non-credit  RISD/CE courses, workshops and lectures  are offered in all aspects of art and design for adults, teens and children.  Come to our silent auction to bid a chance of getting this gift certificate among other gifts!
