Concept: Geometry is the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs. In the arts it has referred to the shape and relative arrangement of the parts of something and includes concepts such as the golden ratio and the use of geometric symbols. It can be found historically in Islamic & Renaissance art, folk art quilts, and was embraced as an aesthetic by the great masters of modern art in the 20th Century. It continues to thrive today as exemplified by artists utilizing algorithms and expressing them through visual means. PAINT: A National Juried Exhibition  Find the Application Here Concept: This show seeks works about paint; the physical property of paint has inspired artists for centuries. We seek to present a show that challenges the viewer to ponder the possibilities for creative meanings found in the application of paint. Juror: Neal Walsh is a working artist who has exhibited nationally and is Gallery Director of AS220 Project Space Gallery in Providence, RI.
