Four Visions Opens Tomorrow!

Here is a close up look at a work in our show opening tomorrow, Four Visions  with "Morning" a painting by Linda Denosky-Smart. Linda is a local artist from Exeter, Rhode Island who has been with the Gallery since 2008. She uses the manipulative properties of acrylic paint to create stunningly pieces who's atmospheric light is analogous to the changing days of the seasons. Along with her works are collections from three other Associative Members Uli Brahmst, Linda Denosky-Smart, and Susan Hayward. Come experience opening night on Saturday, March 1st at Hera Gallery, 10 High St. Wakefield, RI!

Four Visions Sneak Peak!

Another sneak peak of our latest gallery opening Saturday, Four Visions with "They Have Arrived", a piece from Myron Rubenstein's latest body of work. Myron works to bring the mind into a strange reality through 17th century intaglio print making, and 21st century digital technology. The unusual combination of techniques in though provoking and unique. Myron works to show the human being all of their darkness and light in this show. TOMORROW! URI FIlm Night AT Hera Gallery!

*This event is FEBRUARY 27th... Not March as stated on our website* Hera Gallery is pleased to present a film screening featuring the recent films of advanced students from the Harrington School of Communication & Media at URI. The public is invited to attend the screening, which will take place at Hera Gallery located on 10 High Street Wakefield, RI on February 27th at 7:00pm. The screening will feature the work of eight students from faculty member, Keith Brown’s advanced classes. Here's a sneak peak of "Maidi (ll)", a piece by Uli Brahmst in our up and coming show Four Visions . Uli has lived and created art is Canada, Czech Republic, and the United States. She has worked as a sculptor, painter, and fiber-artist.  Her works in four visions are mixed-media pieces that address dreams, memories, and fantasies. The show also displays the works of associate members Linda Denosky-Smart, Susan Hayward, and Myron Rubenstien. Opening night is Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at Hera Gallery, 10 High st. WakeField, RI!

THURSDAY! URI Student Film Fest at Hera Gallery!

Hera Gallery is pleased to present a film screening featuring the recent films of advanced students from the Harrington School of Communication & Media at URI. Today is last day to see the Children's Show if you have not already dropped by Hera Gallery to view the wonderful collection. For one more day the gallery is full of works from talented children across Washington County. With sculpture, paint, prints, and drawings there is something for everyone. Shown below is Simon Manlove's clay dragon titled "Big Mouths". The work was created in Debra Engel's class at Chariho Middle School. Hera is open on Saturdays from 10-4 P.M.!   

Children's Show Ending Tomorrow

Hurry in because tomorrow is the last day to see the Hera Gallery Children's Show. There is always something new and exciting to discover among the dozens of artworks from children around Washington County. Pictured below is Second Grader Jordon Medeiros's masterpiece titled "Mrs. Frankenstein- Picasso Style". It was created in Amie Ray's art class at Wawabam Elementery school in Exeter. The exhibit is open today 1-5 P.M. and Saturday 10-4 P.M.!

Today is the perfect day to come in with friends and family to see the Children's Show. The show comes down on February 22nd so time is running out. Hera is filled with special works of art from children of all ages like the this painting title "Sunflowers" by Ben D. in Ms. Schenck's 1st grade art class. We are open Wed-Fri 1-5 Pm and Saturday 10-4 PM!

The Children's Show is still up at Hera, the show is filled with shining stars from schools around the south county area. Below is a Frito's bag created by Max Duska from Debra Engles 8th grade art class at Chariho Middle School. The gallery is filled with creative pieces like this one from children of all ages. We are open Wed-Fri 1-5 PM and Saturday 10-4 PM!

Looking for a great family outing? Head over to Hera Gallery to see wonderful pieces like Luzuli Cole's "Hunderthasser City". Luzuli is a talented 3rd grader in Ms. Thompson's class at Fishing Cove Elementry. The gallery is filled with artistic pieces by dozens of talented students like Luzuli until February 22nd! We are open Wed-Fri 1-5 PM and Saturday 10-4 PM!

The Children's Show Goes On!

The Children's Show is still happening until February 22nd at Hera Gallery! Come down to 10 High Street to see Claire Knez's pinch pot giraffe! She is a sixth grader from Debra Engle's 6th grade class at Chariho Middle School, just one of the many schools represented in the show. There are many spectacular pieces to see!

Hera Members at the Newport Art Museum Annual Juried Show

If your looking to see some great work from Rhode Island artists this spring then check out the Newport Art Museum's Annual Juried show. Its taking place at Cushing's Gallery from February 8th to May 18th. Crester Picture Framing presents 107 of Rhode Island's shining stars as well as undiscovered talent. Olivia Wood's tranquil "Winter Birches" is just one of the many impressive works at the Hera Gallery Children's Show. Olivia is a 3rd grader at Hamilton Elementary School in North Kingstown, Rhode Island and is taught by Ms. Carlton. The exhibit displays her work as well as many other colorful pieces from schools around South County! Come check it out on Wed-Fri 1-5 PM!
